Hotel rooms in Europe & The Mediterranean are smaller than what we are used to in the USA.

We plan for 2 in a room, but our hotel partners allow up-to 3 guests per room.

Some of our hotels offer family rooms that can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. Call us to discuss rooming options.

While the exact rate tips vary, and travelers are encouraged to give to the best of their abilities, the general rule of thumb for tipping is as follows:

TOUR GUIDES & DRIVERS: The recommended tip for tour guides and drivers is $8-$12 per person per day + 50% of that total for your bus driver

HOTEL: The recommended tip for Housekeepers is $2-$5 per night For those in suites and rooms with more than 2 occupants we recommend $5-$10

The more time you the better, especially when you are planning on taking a large group of people with you. It can take time for everyone to fit the tour into their schedules.

Six Months is generally a goof window to ensure you will get good prices for your tour, though we welcome everyone looking to travel, whether you are looking to travel within a few days, or 2 years in advance!

Plans can change unexpectedly, so we try to accommodate to allow for dates changes & cancellations where needed.

Please note: any fees that result from a canceled or altered tour, including lost deposits, airline/hotel/tour reservation fees etc. will be the traveler’s responsibility.

Please note, is you leave the tour at any point, there are no refunds for unused portions of the tour.

At Tradition Tours, we strongly recommend you purchase trip insurance to prepare for this possibility.

Tour Detail FAQs

What is Double Occupancy and Can I Have My Own Room?

All of our published pricing is based on "Double Occupancy"

Double occupancy means that the rates are based upon 2 adults sharing the same room.

This doesn't mean that you can't have a room all to yourself, or share your room with a third member of your group.

If you would like to enjoy a room for yourself, or need a room that can accommodate three people. Ask a Tradition Tours travel expert what the "Single Occupancy" or "3rd in a Room" rates are for the tour of your choice.

How Long Would You Like It To Be? Tours can range from just a few days to 3 weeks+.

While we don't post every tour option we have online, in order to make it easier to choose, a simple chat can make it easy to find the perfect tour for you!

All our tour participants are given the number for our Tradition Tours office in the USA, as well as emergency contacts for our our team on the ground at your tours destination.

Our emergency team are available at all times while you are on tour.

Should a serious issue arise, we encourage you to contact us for assistance. But if you need a couple extra towels, we recommend calling the front desk first, they are always happy to assist. (:

Many of the hotels have free WiFi in the lobby and common areas. Depending on your hotel free WiFi may be available in your room or in the hotels business center.

Another option is to use your cell phone, most cell phone companies offer international roaming services, and Tradition Tours can provide you with an international SIM card rental if needed.

Please contact your carrier for more information on roaming fees and availability, or a Tradition Tours travel expert for a rental quote.

Let’s face it, everyone likes to shop for souvenir’s while on vacation, your tour guide will make an effort to allow time to browse the shops where possible.

Additionally, in many of the areas we visit, shops stay open late to accommodate tourists. So don’t hesitate to head out in the evening and explore the shops at your own pace.

This is a question we hear pretty often. All of your tour transportation will be with a modern air-conditioned vehicle. The vehicle size will depend on the size of your tour group.

In most instances, your name will not be available to the hotels front desk staff until approximately 48 hours prior to arrival at the hotel. If you have any special requests please be in touch and we will be happy to assist.

About Israel FAQs

The short answer is yes! Israel is a safe country with over 7.5 million tourists visiting each year.

In fact, the tourism industry is one of the biggest in the country. With all their experience and history, Israel puts the protection of its citizens and visitors above all else.

Just look up the arrivals and departures at Ben Gurion's website, Israel's largest international airport, and you will see flights from the major cities around the world.

Group tours: Upon arriving at Ben Gurion Airport, your escort will be waiting for you once you exit passport control and customs with your luggage. You will be greeted by a sign with your name, receive assistance with your luggage, and be taken for transfer to your hotel to check-in and relax.

Private tours: Upon arriving at Ben Gurion Airport, your escort will be waiting for you as you exit the plane and ascend the ramp. You will be greeted by a sign with your name, transported to passport control, receive assistance with your luggage, and be taken to your driver.

Israel's rainy season that usually starts mid-November to mid-February.

As a general rule of thumb, travel to Israel is cheaper during the winter months (except during winter break).

The rest of the year the temperatures in Israel are warm and they do peek into the 90's during the summer.

For our personal recommendation, please give us a call.

Israel is a casual country, the only people you will see in a suit and tie generally have a court date.

For travel during the summer: Shorts and T-shirts, and don’t forget your bathing suit.

For travel during the winter: Dress like an onion and peel off the layers as the temps heat up. Depending on the hotel you may or may not be able to use the pool, but don’t forget your bathing suit for the Dead Sea.

Please note some religious sites require modest dress (arms and legs covered, and, occasionally,a dress and not pants for women).
